Science fiction fans and celebrity has-been gossip enthusiasts finally have cause to acknowledge one another’s existence with the premier of William Shatner’s new talk show “Shatner’s Raw Nerve.” Fans can watch as washed-up celebrities endeavor to upstage one another with opinions and anecdotes the likes of which are not often heard outside of the return-line at Sears. With a “star-studded” lineup of first season interviews including Tim Allen, Judge Judy, Kelsey Grammer, Jenna Jameson and Jimmy Kimmel, the program is expected to fare well against the programs competing in its time slot: a Home & Garden Channel re-run of “The Making of ‘The Making of Pressed Lumber,’” and Fox’s 20th season of The Simpsons. The show, seen to be too edgy and talky to even have a Wikipedia article, is said by Shatner to be his “best work since the TekWar series.”
