Increase in consumer confidence indicates that Canadians are getting much stupider
June 4th, 2009

The fact that consumer confidence has climbed to it’s highest level in 15 months is the “most definitive proof yet” that Canadians are getting much stupider – to the point that some experts are saying the “country is at risk of looking like absolute retards on the global scene.” As an anonymous source wearing a very credible looking bow tie told chTONGUEeek yesterday:

An increase in consumer confidence is often seen by economists as a leading indicator of a revival in economic activity. However, if there’s one thing we’ve learned over the last year it’s that most economists are a bunch of idiots, and it appears their collective lunacy has now crept out into the rest of the population.

I mean it’s fine to say that Canadians are seeing “the light at the end of the tunnel“, but the problem is we’re not in a f$%king tunnel, and there sure as hell isn’t any light at the end of it. I mean have you seen the jobless numbers? The government deficits? The decline in corporate profits? This is more like a black hole than a freaking tunnel, and by optimistically thinking otherwise, all Canadians are basically saying to the rest of the world is we’re a bunch of retards. But in a more politically correct way, of course. If the country has any chance to save itself and compete in this new global reality, we must buck up and get pretty damn pessimistic about what’s going on, because only then will we prove to the world we have the basic common sense required to turn things around.
